My Testimony

God has been leading me to share my testimony. My hope is that this will encourage other people going through similar things in life.

I grew up going to church. When I was still young my parents got divorced. I began hanging out with the wrong crowd, stealing and getting bad grades. But as I entered high school I got really involved with my youth group. It was my life. I even went on month long mission trips to Albania in El Salvador.

My youth pastors ended up moving away and I began to feel alone as I moved into that transitional time after high school. I allowed resentment against the church to grow for the way certain things were handled. And as I began college that resentment gave birth to falling away from God. I got involved in drugs and alcohol. I also had a knee injury introduced me to prescription pain pills.

And as my addiction progressed I ended up loosing quite a bit. I lost my job. I lost my wife. I lost my home. And when I was deepest in my addiction I lost my mother to cancer. I truly believed that I would not be able to quit taking pills. I was completely hopeless. It was during that time that I believe God allowed me a moment of clarity. I checked myself into rehab and God delivered me from my addition to drugs, alcohol, pain pills and even pornography. He eventually gave me a new job, a new home, he restored my marriage and gave me a deeper relationship with him like I’ve never had before.

I just want to let you know, if you’re out there and you’re hurting. There is only one person who has always been there for me. His name is Jesus. He never left me. He never gave up on me. And when I asked, he saved me from my sin. He saved me from my addiction. He healed my broken heart. He put my life back together. He is the one true God and only way to an eternal life in heaven.

I pray that you have a revelation of who he is and are drawn to a transformational relationship with him.

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9

For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. John 3:16-18
